Benesse House
Benesse House is a unique luxury experience blending a museum, hotel, and open-air gallery on Naoshima Island.
Designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando, the complex features minimalist concrete structures that integrate into the natural surroundings of the Seto Inland Sea, offering an immersive art experience rather than a traditional museum visit.
The four disparate, architecturally distinctive buildings that comprise the hotel offer four slightly different experiences.
The Museum, where guests are housed as close to the art as possible, with original drawings, paintings and prints from the museum’s collection in both the rooms and public spaces. The Oval building, with an open, oval-shaped roof framing views of the sky. The Park, a wooden structure, with a restaurant and shops in addition to the spaces for art. And the Beach building with its eponymous location.
